The engineer who built FIREMaster for his own bridge, and the enterprise sales leader bringing it to advisory firms and employers.

George Borshukov

Founder

George Borshukov founded FIREMaster and leads its product and engineering. He was the bullet-time technical designer on The Matrix, and his work on the trilogy earned him two Scientific and Technical Academy Awards. He later directed creative R&D at Electronic Arts and was a founder or CTO at three startups. Most recently he spent five years at Epic Games as Special Projects Supervisor for Digital Humans, helping bring Darth Vader to Fortnite.

A layoff at Epic in March 2026, at 53, left George three years short of his planned retirement, with most of his net worth tied up in retirement accounts and real estate. None of the planning apps he trusted could model that bridge. FIREMaster, a weekend project until then, became the one that could. He runs his own plan on it every week.

George holds an M.S. in computer science from UC Berkeley and is a named inventor on five patents. He also occasionally produces electronic music as G.D.B.M.

Tod Stathis

Tod Stathis

VP of Sales and Business Development

Tod Stathis leads sales, business development and strategic partnerships for FIREMaster. He brings more than two decades of leadership experience in enterprise technology, including 13 years at IBM in a range of management and executive roles and a full decade at Oracle. At Oracle, he served as National Sales Director, leading national enterprise sales efforts and building relationships with major customers and executive teams.

Tod brings a personal understanding of the uncertainty that follows a job loss before retirement. Working alongside FIREMaster founder George Borshukov, he is bringing the application to registered investment advisory firms and employers to help people understand their financial options and plan their bridge to reemployment or retirement.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Tod was named the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Oregon Man of the Year in 2021 and Co-Chair of the Executive Committee in 2022 & 2023.
